THUNDER BAY - A fire ban is now in effect for the city of Thunder Bay.
In a media release issued Sunday morning the Thunder Bay Fire Rescue confirmed that all fire permits have been suspended until further notice.
No open burning will be allowed within the city.
Local fire officials say the fire ban is consistent with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests’ Restricted Fire Zone declaration.
