THUNDER BAY – An early morning fire has caused heavy damage to a south-side home.
Officials with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue say firefighters responded to reports of a house fire at 295 E. Christina St. at about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters found smoke coming from the back door of the home and visible flames from the basement when they arrived on scene.
Two people were inside the home at the time of the blaze, and managed to escape safely.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, and its cause remains under investigation.
