THUNDER BAY -- A family of six was forced from their Dacre Street residence after a fire tore through the home.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, in a release issued on Thursday night, said they received a call at about 6:38 p.m. and arrived at the home to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the structure.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire, but it left two adults and four children without a place to stay. They were taken care of by the Red Cross.
The home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
A second alarm was required and a total of five pumpers and one aerial ladder was called to put the fire out.
