It appears everyone got out safely Wednesday as firefighters battled a fire at a Ray Boulevard duplex.

However, an unconfirmed report suggests at least one person in the residence suffered burns to his hand.

Few details on the fire and its cause were immediately available.

Heavy smoke could be seen blanketing the air, but no flames were visible from the street. Firefighters are reporting elevated smoke levels in at least one neighbouring residence.

Firefighters got the call around 11 p.m.

At least five pumpers were on scene, as well as paramedics and police.

More details will be posted when they become available.
