Thunder Bay residents are being reminded to ensure their fire alarms are in working order.
The Thunder Bay Fire Service announced they're starting their annual door-to-door campaign to check on smoke detectors.
Under the law, all homes are required to have a working smoke alarm on every level and outside of sleeping areas.
Fire officials say no charges will be laid during the inspections.
But if there is a fire call at your home and you do not have a working alarm, you will be fined.
The home inspections will continue throughout the summer.
