Firefighters responded to the call just before 5 p.m., and the fire was upgraded to a second alarm.

Officials say the fire started near a television set and involved a couch, interior walls, and the ceiling.

Flames were brought under control quickly, and damage was mainly confined to the basement.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire. Firefighters believe the home was vacant at the time of the blaze.
