Firefighters snuff out fire at AbitibiBowater mill

A fire at the AbitibiBowater mill in Thunder Bay had fire crews busy Sunday evening. Firefighters responded to the blaze just after 6 p.m. to tend to an auger and portions of the building's roof that had caught fire.

Firefighters responded to the blaze just after 6 p.m. to tend to an auger and portions of the building's roof that had caught fire.

Firefighters say the cause of the fire appears to be a seized bearing in the auger.

Foam was applied to the fire and it was extinguished quickly. 

Fire crews continued to monitor the area Sunday evening as repairs continued.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
