A long-awaited report on First Nations Jury representation is set to be released in Thunder Bay next week.

Frank Iacobucci will table his report, entitled First Nations Representation on Ontario Juries, at a news conference Tuesday morning.

A former Supreme Court of Canada Justice, Iacobucci was appointed by Ontario's Attorney General in the summer of 2011 to review the process and offer recommendations to better include First Nations people living in reserve communities on provincial jury rolls.

For years, organizations like the Nishnawbe Aski Nation fought what it calls the systemic exclusion of First Nations from the Ontario justice system.

The issue has caused extensive delays in several trials and inquests here in Northwestern Ontario.

The most high-profile case was the inquest into the death of 15-year old Reggie Bushie, who died in 2007 while attending high school in the city.
