First United flight from Chicago expected to arrive this evening
Officials at the Thunder Bay International Airport are awaiting a special arrival Thursday evening.
The first flight from Chicago by United Airlines is scheduled to land at 9:20 p.m., with company officials on board expected to attend a special welcoming ceremony.
The first outbound flight for the Windy City leaves at 6 a.m. Friday morning.
The daily flights mark the return of cross-border air service for Thunder Bay, since Delta Airlines pulled out in 2010.
