Five arrested following drug trafficking investigation

City police have arrested five individuals on Wednesday following an investigation into drug trafficking.

Police arrested five people Wednesday, including three individuals from the GTA, following an investigation into drug trafficking activity in the city.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Task Unit, executed a search warrant at a residential address in the 200 block off Ambrose Street just after 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2.

As police were executing this warrant, a male was observed jumping from a second floor window. The male was identified as a suspect linked to the drug trafficking investigation, and was subsequently taken into custody.

Two other males were observed trying to flee from the scene from a second-storey window. Despite their efforts, police were able to identify them as suspects linked to their investigation and arrest them without further incident.

Two other suspects were located inside the home and arrested without further incident.

Police later located and seized a quantity of Fentanyl, a quantity of suspected cocaine, a quantity of suspected crack cocaine and cash. The estimated potential street value of the drugs seized totalled more than $13,600.

Jeshawn CLARKE-CHAMBERS, 19, of Toronto, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Obstruct Peace Officer

Diane GAGNON, 56, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

Kyle Eilo LURETIG, 28, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

Christoph Demarco MORGAN, 21, of Brampton, Ont., is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Failure to Comply with a Judicial Release

Lionel Leslie SAMUELS, 22, of Toronto, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Obstruct Peace Officer

All accused appeared in bail court on Thursday, Dec. 3 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
