Five arrested for copper wire theft

Five men, all between the ages of 23 and 45, have been arrested in connection with the theft of copper wire. OPP officials say police were called out to the Squaw Bay dump on the Fort William First Nation Wednesday.

OPP officials say police were called out to the Squaw Bay dump on the Fort William First Nation Wednesday. The calls stated that a group of males were burning copper wire.

An investigation revealed the wires had been stolen from a business site in Thunder Bay.

Police recovered about 300 pounds of copper wire during their investigation.
