Five charged after Simpson Street drug bust

Police charged five people after raiding and finding drugs at a Simpson Street home Friday. Officers with the combined forces organized crime unit searched a home in the 300 block of Simpson Street.

Officers with the combined forces organized crime unit searched a home in the 300 block of Simpson Street. Six people were in the home at the time of the search and police said they discovered about 220 grams of marijuana and $1,065 in Canadian currency.

Police say they estimate the value of the drugs to be about $2,100.

Two men and a young woman were charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. Two other men were charged for possession of narcotics.

Two of the men charged were released from custody and are expected to appear in court on Dec. 6.

The young girl, who will face charges under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was also released with a court date of Dec. 6.
