Five people facing drug charges in Kenora

Kenora OPP have charged five people with numerous drug related offences after cocaine found in residence.

KENORA, Ont. - Five people are facing numerous drug charges after Ontario Provincial Police responded to a Kenora area residence.

According to an OPP media release, officers responded to reports of people unlawfully inside a residence in the north end of Kenora on Sept. 1, 2017 just before 4:30 a.m.

Four people were located inside the residence and following an investigation, it was determined that illegal drug use was taking place. The four suspects were arrested and police discovered cocaine following a search.

A fifth individual was located in the area and arrested in connection with the incident. Following a search of the residence, officers located eight grams of cocaine with a street value of more than $800, Canadian currency, and other items associated with drug trafficking.

Police have charged two 20-year-old Kenora women, a 27-year-old Kenora man, a 24-year-old Naotkamegwanning First Nation man, and a 22-year-old Sioux Narrows man.

All individuals facing charges are expected to appear in court on Oct. 12.
