THUNDER BAY – Hockey fans in Thunder Bay will get the chance to celebrate with hometown hero and two-time Walter Cup champion Michela Cava one last time this summer.

Cava’s latest championship, with her former team, the PWHL’s Minnesota Frost, will be feted on Thursday at the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame, where a flag will be raised in honour of her achievement.

The event is open to the public and free to attend.

“We are so proud to raise the flag for Michela and share this momentous occasion with the people of Thunder Bay, a community that has showed such enthusiastic support of the PWHL,” said Diane Imrie, executive director at the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame.

The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Cava, who spent the past two seasons with Minnesota, winning titles in 2024 and 2025, signed this summer with Vancouver as a free agent.
