A class action lawsuit being organized against the City of Thunder Bay is expected to be filed in the next day or two.
Thunder Bay lawyer Chris Watkins said his firm has now signed up just less than 300 clients who will be seeking restitution from the city for damages suffered in May 28 flood.
And they are getting some high-powered support in pursuing the claims. The law firm is now partnering with the Merchant Law Group of Canada in the action.
Watkins said the legal partnership has a wide range of experience in class action law and will afford them access to a broad array of insurance, engineering and other expertise in proving their claims.
There is no word yet on dollar value that will be sought in the suit.
