RAINY RIVER, Ont. – A 54-year-old Florida man is in hot water after getting caught trying to bring four undeclared guns across the border.
The man, from Venice, Fla., was trying to enter Canada at the Rainy River border crossing on May 21 to bring his boat to his summer camp for the season.
A search resulted in Canada Border Services Agency guards discovering one handgun with loose ammunition. A more detailed examination of the vehicle found three more guns and 10 overcapacity magazines of ammunition.
The man has been charged with non-report of goods, willful evasion, possession of illegally imported goods and smuggling.
