THUNDER BAY — The Rural Cupboard Food Bank is to mark 25 years of operation next week with an appreciation night for its valued donors.

The May 24 dinner event is to take place at the Kakabeka Falls Legion.

Rural Cupboard, which is open every third Wednesday of each month, serves rural communities just outside Thunder Bay.

It's located in Conmee Township on Holland Road West next to the township's municipal office.

Demand for the service remains high. The organization provided about 55 food hampers last month, serving more than 180 people.

The food bank can be contacted by email at [email protected].

Tickets for the appreciation dinner are available at Conmee's municipal office or by calling 807-577-1035. The cost for both a dinner and dance is $40.
