Foot pursuit leads to break and enter arrest

Provincial police have laid charges against one man in connection to a break and enter.

LONGLAC, Ont. – Ontario Provincial Police have one man in custody following a late night break and enter.

OPP say just before midnight on Feb. 27 officers were on patrol in the town of Longlac when they observed two suspicious persons near the rear of a parked tractor trailer on Queen Street.

Both individuals fled on foot after officers approached the suspects breaking into the trailer.

A short foot pursuit ensued. The officers were able to arrest one of the suspects, who was taken into custody.

The 20-year-old Ginoogaming First Nation man has been charged with failing to comply with an officer-in-charge undertaking, failing to comply with a recognizance and break and enter.

The suspect is scheduled to appear by video court in Thunder Bay on Thursday to answer to the charge.
