A former Kenora mayor is facing impaired driving charges.
According to officials from the Kenora detachment of the OPP, 74-year-old Len Compton was stopped at 2 a.m. Thursday after officers saw a vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner.
Police officers say Compton was arrested following a roadside breath test.
He's been charged with operating a vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood.
Compton served as Kenora’s mayor from 2006 until 2010. He chose not to run for re-election.
The former mayor is now scheduled to appear in court in Kenora on May 2.
