Former Cat Cook headed to Arizona Fall League

Cook spent two seasons with the Border Cats in 2017 and 2018, hitting .287 in 338 at bats.

THUNDER BAY — Former Thunder Bay Border Cats infielder Billy Cook is headed to the Arizona Fall League.

Cook, who played for the Cats in 2017 and 2018, is one of 29 ex-Northwoods League players making the journey to the AFL.

The 24-year-old was a 10th-round pick by the Baltimore Orioles, chosen 287th overall in the 2021 draft.

Cook hit .251 with 24 HR and 81 RBI and 30 stolen bases with AA Bowie in 2023.

The MLB-hopeful hit .287 in 93 games with the Border Cats, bashing five home runs and driving in 42. He also stole 18 bases.
