A former Fort William First Nation chief and current council member will not win this season’s Master Chef Canada.
Georjann Morriseau on Wednesday confirmed in a Facebook message posted to the Thunder Bay Dining page that she was not selected for the reality television show cooking competition.
Despite the news, the former chief’s message was positive as she praised the support she received from the community and the experience she gained in her attempts to join Master Chef Canada on its third season.
”I want to take this moment to thank each and everyone of you who supported me and encouraged me to apply for MasterChef Canada and push my limits of comfort,” Morriseau wrote in her Facebook message. “It was the greatest experience and gave me the opportunity to do what I love most. Cook and bake. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful in being selected for the next round in this upcoming season as there is tremendous talent our country has to offer.
“Even though I did not make it to the next round; I still feel honoured to have been invited to audition amongst the thousands who apply. My reward was presenting my story on a plate and seeing the smile it brought to the faces of those who experienced it.
“To me that means the world. I wish the successful candidates moving forward the best of luck and strength throughout their upcoming challenges. I am looking forward to seeing the creativity our Canadians home cooks have to offer and the inspiration that will follow for those who have the same dreams.
“Thank you again Thunder Bay, FWFN, Canada, friends and family for all your support and love! I am truly humbled.
Morrriseau travelled to Winnipeg July 2 to try and get on the show.
