Former city daycare director charged with theft, fraud

Theft and fraud charges have been laid against a former employee of a city daycare centre. 

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say the charges follow the disappearance of $15,000 from the Little Footsteps Daycare on County Boulevard between May of 2008 and March of 2009. 

An investigation by the police force’s economic crime unit indicates the theft was covered up through the forging of documents and falsification of records.

Charged in connection with the crime is Sherrel Pucci, the daycare's former Executive Director. 

Pucci is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 20.
