Local farmers in the Fort Frances area are looking for a new place to sell their products on the weekend after the closure of the towns market.
Since it opened 25 years ago tenants have been struggling to pay the bills, and this week the buildings board of directors officially announced that the Clover Valley Farmers Market would close.
The vendors only use the building for 30 days out of the year, and with a $1,000 price tag to keep operations running every month, the board and shareholders were forced to look at other options.
That could include the possibility of making the market mobile, similar to towns like Kenora and Red Lake.
But regardless of the solution, the sites manager Donna Lowey says this is not the end to a farmers market in Fort Frances.
The board of directors is also looking at the option of moving the farmers market to Fort Frances' new market square in the downtown core.
