Fort Frances man charged with impaired driving

Impaired driving charges laid after police respond to a complaint Sunday morning.

EMO, Ont. – A Fort Frances resident is facing impaired driving charges following a morning complaint.

According to an OPP release, Rainy River District police received a complaint on Aug. 9 at 8:44 a.m. of an impaired driver in the parking lot of the Cloverleaf Grocery store in Emo.

Officers located the described vehicle and spoke to the male driver.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Fort Frances Detachment for further test.

As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Fort Frances man has been charged with impaired operation of a conveyance – drug or alcohol and operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The driver was released to appear in court in Fort Frances on Sept. 21 to answer to the charges.
