Fort Frances man nabbed for impaired driving

FORT FRANCES – A 50-year-old Fort Frances man is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic complaint over the weekend.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, officers were advised of a traffic complaint on Nov. 13 around 8:50 p.m. in the Township of Alberton. The vehicle was later located in Fort Frances.

Police say during the interaction, the driver was arrested at the scene and transported to Fort Frances Detachment.

As a result, a 50-year-old Fort Frances man was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and impaired operation with blood alcohol concentration over 80.

The driver was issued a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 13.
