FORT FRANCES -- An alleged replica handgun has landed a  teenager in custody.

OPP arrested the 16-year-old male after administration locked-down Fort Frances High School at approximately 11:50 a.m. on Thursday.
Police arrived on scene in minutes and the lockdown continued as the investigation was conducted. About an hour later police located the suspect off-property and confirmed he did in fact have a replica firearm in his possession.

The lockdown was then lifted and classes resumed.

Police are working with school officials to alert parents and students about the incident, and remind parents to speak with their children about it.

School administration is available for additional support.

Charges are pending.
