THUNDER BAY, ON — Former Sportop Midget AA Queens defence, Kendra Fortin, signed her National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 hockey for the Bemidji Beavers for the 2021-22 season. "Bemidji has been my dream school since I was little girl, and it’s crazy to think I will be going there next season.” told Fortin, "The Queens have definitely been a big part of my hockey journey so far, starting when I was in peewee and ending this past season. I’ve learned a lot while being a Queen, such as dealing with adversity on and off the ice, managing my time, and most importantly, being a good teammate. The queens will always have a special place in my heart because of the life long friends I’ve made through this organization.”

Queens Head Coach Denis Lavoie describes Fortin as "a hard worker and has good hockey skills. Very committed to the game of hockey.”

This season, Kendra made the decision to move to Toronto and play out her final minor hockey season playing for the Etobicoke Dolphins. "My goal for this season is to be the best version of myself on and off the ice. I am very excited for what’s to come in the new chapter I am starting at Bemidji State University. Go Beavs!"
