The knowledge-based economy is seen as a major sector for growth and new jobs in Thunder Bay.
Preparing for those jobs is the focus of a special forum being held Wednesday evening. Four of the city's top bio-medical firms and agencies will be on hand at the forum, including Tornado Medical Systems Genesis Genomics and the Regional Research Institute.
The event, titled Mission Employability, will be hosted by the North Superior Workforce Planning Board.
Executive Director Marg Scott says the evening will present an opportunity for educators to find out what the needs of the industry are. Scott adds that many young people will also be in attendance to bring their perspective on the educational needs for their future careers.
