Foulds expected to make announcement about political future on Thursday

Is Current River Coun.

Is Current River Coun. Andrew Foulds contemplating a run at longtime Liberal Michael Gravelle?

In a briefly worded release on Wednesday sent out by his municipal campaign manager, Foulds said he plans to make an announcement on Thursday afternoon at the North End Recreation Centre. A source told Thunder Bay Television Foulds will announce intentions to seek the provincial seat in Thunder Bay-Superior North.

Foulds has long been rumoured as a possible federal or provincial candidate.

He’s served on Thunder Bay city council for the past seven years, and is the son of former NDP MPP Jim Foulds, who served from 1971 to 1987.

Gravelle has served the riding since 1995, when it was known as the Port Arthur riding. He's presently the minister of northern development and mines in Premier Kathleen Wynne's minority cabinet.
