Four-vehicle crash near White River closes Highway 17

WHITE RIVER, Ont. -- A multi-vehicle collision resulted in the closure of the Trans-Canada Highway. The OPP said four transport trucks were involved in the crash, which occurred early Sunday afternoon about 10 kilometres west of White River.

The OPP said four transport trucks were involved in the crash, which occurred early Sunday afternoon about 10 kilometres west of White River.

Two of those trucks were said to be hauling cattle.

The highway was briefly closed between White River and Marathon while the highway was being cleared. It has been since reopened to one lane.

The OPP said there were only minor injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Snow squall warnings issued by Environment Canada have been in place in the Marathon area throughout Sunday.
