Four-year-old Fort Hope boy struck and killed in collision

EABAMETOONG FIRST NATION – Nishnawbe Aski Police Service is investigating the New Year’s Day death of a four-year-old at Eabametoong First Nation, after the youngster was struck by a vehicle.

Isaaw Waboose was transported to the nursing station in the remote Northern Ontario community, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The incident occurred at about 6:25 p.m. on Sunday.

NAPS’ Northwest Region Crime Unit is investigating the tragedy, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police’s technical traffic collision investigators.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday in Toronto.
