Fourteen-year-old driver in Chippewa Road crash charged

THUNDER BAY -- A 14-year-old male has been charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm in connection with a collision that caused serious injuries. On Nov. 23, 2014, a vehicle collided with a hydro pole on Chippewa Road.

THUNDER BAY -- A 14-year-old male has been charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm in connection with a collision that caused serious injuries.

On Nov. 23, 2014, a vehicle collided with a hydro pole on Chippewa Road. There were four male passengers in the car of similar ages.

Three of the teens in the car suffered serious injuries, two of them required surgery.

On Thursday, city police issued a media release saying the alleged driver of the vehicle has been charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm as well as take auto without consent and a Highway Traffic Act charge of driving without a license.

He had a court appearance Thursday morning.
