THUNDER BAY – Free compost is now available for those needing it for landscaping, lawn and garden needs.

Residents are reminded they need to bring their own shovel and bags or containers to carry compost, and that they are limited to one half-tonne load per city resident.

The compost is available at the city’s solid waste and recycling facility’s pick-up area, which is located just east of the old landfill entrance on John Street Road. Hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
