THUNDER BAY -- Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the City of Thunder Bay, warning of the threat of freezing rain on Thursday morning.

According to the statement, a fast-moving weather system is expected to arrive in Northwestern Ontario early in the morning, bringing up to five centimetres of snow, along with the threat of freezing rain.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution because of possibly icy and slippery roadways and sidewalks.
