The community of White River is expecting a major forestry announcement from the province on Friday.
According to reports, an American firm may build a new plant in White River, which will convert wood into jet fuel.
Speculation is that the plant would be located near the site of the old Domtar lumber mill.
When the mill closed in 2007, some 250 people lost their jobs.
The province is expected to make an announcement in Sault Ste. Marie.
