THUNDER BAY — Community members enjoyed the hot mid-August weather with activities and a swim at a south-end pool.
The Heath Park Pool Festival Day took place on Thursday with many families enjoying the festivities at the facility.
Mikayla Durant is the assistant facility operator at the pool and organizer of the event.
"We fundraise throughout the year by selling candy.
"Today we have, obviously our swimming, we have some activities like our craft table and face painting. We bought a cotton candy machine this year," she said.
Treats, face painting, a BBQ and games were hosted by pool staff.
Staff were able to raise close to $900 to help fund the festival day, with the city contributing some money to help purchase food for the occasion.
