THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews battled a garage fire on Vera Street late on Friday night.

No one was hurt in the incident but the structure suffered damage to an exterior wall and roof area and remains under investigation to determine the cause.

In a release issued early Saturday morning, TBFR said crews were called just after 10 p.m. and arrived to find thick smoke and flames coming from the rear of a garage behind the home.

According to TBFR, neighbours reported seeing flames 10 feet over the structure.

An offensive attack was ordered to contain the fire. A second line was then deployed and the fire was quickly brought under control, the damage contained to the garage.
