THUNDER BAY – Firefighters responded to a garage fire in Current River early Wednesday morning, which is now being called suspicous.
Firefighters arrived to the scene in the 400 block of Merrill Street just before 4:30 a.m. to find a separate garage in flames in the back of a property.
The building and all of its contents were destroyed by the fire.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time and an investigation is being conducted.
A fence and nearby trees were also damaged by the heat of the fire.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue officials on Wednesday afternoon confirmed that the cause of the fire was considered suspicious in nature.
