THUNDER BAY -- The gas price has finally cracked the $1 a litre mark in Thunder Bay.
Several stations dropped their price on Wednesday afternoon to 99.9 cents a litre, the first time in several years the price has fallen that low.
Motorists could find sub-$1 gasoline at at least six locations by Thursday morning.

The gas price information is according to the online gas price watchdog gasbuddy.com, which uses user reporter data to track the rising and falling gas prices across the province.
Meanwhile, the most expensive listed price was at the Esso on Mapleward and Dawson roads and the Esso on John Street Road and Valley Street. Those stations continued to sell fuel at $1.099-per-litre.
The cheapest listed price in neighbouring Fort William First Nations was 86.9 cents, which is what Rita's Cafe and Gas Bar.
Motorists in Thunder Bay not interested in finding the best deal likely paid about $1.024 to $1.039, which was the listed price at most stations.
In Ontario, the gas price trend is again falling, and the provincial average per-litre gas price was 92.3 cents as of Wednesday morning.
