THUNDER BAY -- A struck gas line forced Union Gas officials to block off a portion of a roadway near Rosslyn Road Thursday afternoon.
The incident forced Union Gas officials to block off a portion Almira Avenue just before 11 a.m. The gas line was fixed and the roadway was re-opened just before 1 p.m.
Witnesses say work crews were working on a valve replacement when the gas main was struck.
That information has yet to be confirmed by official sources. Union Gas’ customer service line did confirm that a gas line had been struck in that area.
