THUNDER BAY – Gas prices are holding steady at local pumps leading into the Easter long weekend, but it may not stay that way as prices across the province continue to rise.
The average per-litre price for regular gasoline in Ontario is trending upwards and now sits at 94.2 cents. That is slightly below the national average of 95.8-cents-a-litre.
Prices are known to jump in Thunder Bay heading into a long weekend, but as of Thursday morning prices were staying still at local gas bars.
The bad news is fuel has already been jumping at pumps across the city, forcing most area motorists to pay about $105.7-per-litre.
There are still a handful of local gas bars selling fuel below the dollar-per-litre mark, and at neighbouring Fort William First Nations gas can be purchased for as low as 89-cents-per-litre.
