THUNDER BAY – Paying less than a dollar for a litre of regular gasoline in this city could be a thing of the past any minute now.
Fuel prices are on the rise across the province, which now has an average price of 88.7-cents-a-litre. In Thunder Bay the rising prices mean motorists can expect to pay between 96 and 99-cents-per litre.
The cheapest fuel reported in the city as of Wednesday morning, according to online gas-price watchdog ontariogasprices.com, was at the Superstore where a litre of fuel costs 95.9-cents-a-litre.
The most expensive price listed was 98.9-cents-a-litre, which was the price listed at nearly a dozen local gas bars.
In neighbouring Fort William First Nations, motorists could expect to fill their tanks with gas costing as little as 83.9-cents-a-litre.
