THUNDER BAY -- As we head into the long weekend, gas prices have jumped about eight cents across the city and apparently, it's the unfortunate result of Hurricane Harvey.
The worst rainstorm in U.S. history, Hurricane Harvey has devastated coastal Texas.
In its wake, it's left a number of refineries out of commission.
In total, 25 per cent of the United States oil supply has been shut down, and the result is surging gas prices across many parts of North America.
In Thunder Bay, gas jumped from $1.111 per litre to $1.199 per litre at a number of stations across the city.
According to experts, the prices are expected to continue to rise until the weekend.
