THUNDER BAY – Gas prices across the city are on the rise.

Some gas bars began rising their prices by nearly 15 cents-per-litre Wednesday afternoon from about $1.229 to $1.369-a-litre. Since then there have been more reports of gas bars following suit.

According to ontariogasprices.com, a gas price watchdog website, the provincial average Wednesday was trending upwards but remained at about $1.114-per-litre for regular gasoline.

That same website listed two local Shell stations, one at Arthur Street West and Leland Street South and another at Cumberland and McIntyre Streets, as being the highest in the city at $1.396.

That price was also among the highest in the province Wednesday afternoon.
