City police have a man in custody after responding to a reported break and enter at a Simpson Street gas bar Sunday evening.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say officers responded to reports of a break in at the Esso gas bar on Simpson Street just before 8 p.m.

Police say a male suspect attempted to hide inside the store.

The man was arrested and now faces several charges including:

  • Break and enter with Intent
  • Possession of break-in instrument
  • Resisting arrest
  • Two counts of failing to comply with conditions

The suspect was scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
