Gas Watch: Modest price drops continue across city, $1.14 cheapest recorded

THUNDER BAY -- The trend continues as gas prices in and around the city continue to drop almost daily. As of Tuesday morning, the price gap in Thunder Bay rested at nearly 13 cents.

As of Tuesday morning, the price gap in Thunder Bay rested at nearly 13 cents. The cheapest gas prices recorded, according to online gas price watchdog ontariogasprices.com, was at the Superstore pumps. A litre of regular gas there was just shy of $1.14.

Meanwhile, at the Esso on the corner of John Street Road and Valley Street was selling its gas at $1.26-per-litre.

Elsewhere around the city, you could expect to pay about $1.16 to $1.21 depending on where you filled up. Southside stations are charging prices closer to $1.16, while most north-side stations are showing prices around $1.19-per-litre.

Across the region, Northwestern Ontario continues to dominate the list of highest prices in the province.

Gas bars in Schreiber, Terrace Bay, Pass Lake, Ignace, Balmertown and Sioux Lookout all made that list with prices ranging from $1.21 to $1.27.
