The most you’ll pay for a litre of regular gasoline Wednesday morning is $1.21. That’s according to the online gas price watchdog ontariogasprices.com, which shows that the Superstore is listed with the cheapest price at $1.139.

But the gap between the highest and lowest-priced fuel is closing.

On Tuesday the Superstore’s price was a more significant savings compared to its closest competitors that it was Wednesday. Those close competitors are now selling their fuel at just above $1.14.

Meanwhile, the two highest price gas bars in the city Wednesday morning -- the Esso on Simpson Street and Ogden Street, and the Esso on the corner of John Street Road and Valley Street -- are selling gas at $1.218 and $1.219 respectively.

As of Wednesday morning, most north-side gas bars were selling fuel near the $1.15 mark, while many southside stations were closer to $1.17.  However, there doesn’t appear to be a significant divide between the city’s north and south sides as prices between $1.15-to-$1.17 can be found at gas bars throughout Thunder Bay.

Fuel at a glance (as of Wednesday, 7:45 a.m.):

  • The most you’ll pay: $1.219
  • The least you’ll pay:  $113.9
  • What you’ll likely pay: $1.147 to $1.174
