THUNDER BAY – Gas prices remain high, nearly $1.40-a-litre at some local gas bars, across the city.
Earlier last week the city saw prices for regular gas surge at a few gas stations, a rise of nearly 15-cents-per litre at some locations. In the days that followed, other gas bars followed suit.
Now, according to Ontariogasprices, com, an online gas-price watchdog, most local stations are selling fuel for $1.399, with some pumps listing prices slightly higher or lower than that.
The prices are in contrast to fuel prices in other parts of the province.
Fuel in St. Catherine’s can be purchased for less than a dollar-a-litre.
Meanwhile in the Northeast, gas stations at Timmins are selling fuel for about $1.20-per-litre, $1.15 in North Bay and $1.119 in Sualt Ste. Marie.
The province’s average, which is trending down, now sits at $1.10-per-litre.
