THUNDER BAY -- The debris that was the old sawmill at the Great West Timber lot is still spewing out dangerous gasses.

It's been one week since the massive blaze leveled the sawmill, which closed in 2007.

Fire Marshal's investigator Tim Irish says for the time being, he is waiting for demolition of the remains, which is the responsibility of the owner.

The fumes and gases make it hazardous for investigators to get in and begin reconstructing the events that led up to the fire.

Irish says at this point, there is no time line for that demolition work to begin.

Meanwhile, investigators have their work cut out for them, as they go over other material, and get ready to gather more information from the area to be demolished.
