Giant Gymnastics excelled in St. Paul

Giant Gymnastics successfully competed in six different levels at the Classic Spectacular Invitational this past weekend.

THUNDER BAY -- Giant Gymnastics successfully competed in six different levels at the Classic Spectacular Invitational this past weekend.

This competition is well known across the U.S. and Canada as a high-level meet attracting some of the nation's best clubs for the coveted Nastia Liukin Cup qualifier portion of the meet.

Lead performers were Ryleigh Allen winning the gold category and Ella Gasparotto coming in 2nd in the Level 7 category.
Giant Gymnast Sophia Tofintetti competed at the highest level (10) and hit both her beam routine earning her way onto the podium in 4th and floor routine with a new personal best.

The Level 9 athletes did Giant proud with Hannah Palko coming 8th on beam, Macy Gashinski scoring a 9.175 on Floor and Abby McGirr, youngest in the under 14 age category at just 11 years old, holding a impressive finish middle of the pack, competing at this high level for the first time.

The Level 8 team scored well. Alyssa Blazino, 9.20 and placing 5th on vault and 9.00 on floor, Deveyn Kayes receiving a 9.025 on floor, as well as Harper Lilley recording a 9.025 on floor and Katie Tofinetti being awarded an 8.725 on vault.

Addison McGirr was able to get to the podium with a 1st on vault and 3rd on beam with teammate Melia Sutton coming 2nd on vault.
Arianna Sutton had a high score of 9.025 on floor. While teammate Jade Shewchuk placed 3rd on vault.

High scorers were Lyla Picard with an 8.950 on vault, Eeva scoring a 9.00 on 3 of the 4 events and Janneka DePeuter 9.00 on vault, 9.150 on beam and 9.225 on floor.

Ella Gasparotto rose to the occasion and in doing so came 2nd overall, placing 2nd on vault and 4th on beam.

The champion of the weekend was Ryleigh Allen with a 1st place finish all around. She also received 1st on vault and floor and 3rd on bars.

Giant Gymnastics is mid-season and is back at practice preparing for their next big contest in the neighbour country when they compete at Twisted Moose Invitational next weekend.

The coaches and management at Giant Gymnastics are very proud of this weekend and expect similar results at next weekend’s meet.
